How to Report Property Owners Negligence?

Now a day’s many people all over the world have to face problematic property owners and neighbors. A real estate property which is being neglected can become an invitation for Criminals, Sanitation Issues and Vermin. Also, a neglected property in your street or even in your neighborhood can lower down the value of your home. With too many properties are available in today’s market, then there is no possibility that any home buyer want to go and buy a property that has messy and eyesores neighbors. Fortunately, there are many methods through which you can easily put up the responsibilities on the shoulders of negligent property owners.

Reporting the Negligence of Property Owners

You can easily handle the situation on your own by directly talking to the property owner about the issues without even involving the authorities in that matter. If the property owner is living on his property, then it’s easy for you to reach out to the owner and convey your complain in a calm manner. And the owner is not living on his property then you should try your best to contact him through any possible way you can.

Make sure that the person living on that property is the real owner of that particular property and not a tenant. If he or she is a tenant then you have to figure out who is renting out and contact the real owner before reaching out to the authorities. You can also reach out to property tax assessor's office, take out the property information and send a proper complain letter to the owner along with the snapshots of the negligence.

If the property is a foreclosed state, then complain it to his lender. Speak directly to the management and even reach out to the chief executive officer (C.E.O) level to voice your concern. If you aren’t getting any results from that then go to your state mortgage regulator.

If you are a member of homeowners association, then you need to contact the group and submit your complain request. And if you aren’t getting satisfaction then you should directly call your local public health department and raise your issue with them.

You can contact your elected officials. They make the wheels moving even when the bureaucratic agencies are stalled in solving your issue.

If you want to take the issue to the court and you think that only a proper court trial can resolve it then you should hire a lawyer in the first place. This step is fairly and expensive one, take this legal step as your last option as its mostly expensive and can take too long to be resolved.
